DESKi works hand in hand with medical practitioners and researchers to develop automated, accurate, and data-driven image analysis tools for an enhanced patient care.

Deep Learning

DESKi specializes in Deep Learning algorithms. Inspired by the human brain, those are able to learn autonomously and extract complex patterns from large datasets. They carry and combine hundreds of specialists’ expertise through thousands of annotated images.

Deep Learning methods offer amazing improvement perspectives for patient care as new diagnostic tools.

Medical Imaging

Estimated to account for almost 90% of medical data generated (IBM), medical imagery has become essential at every step of the patient care. As the volume of medical data is projected to increase by 5000% by 2020, better tools are needed to process information more efficiently and compensate for the limited ressources in doctors and budgets.

Today, 2/3 of the world population does not have access to medical imaging.

DEEP ECHO

Echography represents the only scalable form of medical imaging: non-invasive, affordable, portable and easy to use (plugged on smartphone or tablet). Compared to any other type of imagery, echography only can spread widely.

But Its potential is limited by experts capable of interpreting it.

DESKi builds automated analysis algorithms in order to spread specialists expertise to a wider community.

Spine radiograph assessment is key for clinical evaluation and preoperative planning for spinal deformity surgery. In partnership with Surgimap, a software dedicated to orthopedic surgeon, and the spine research team of the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York, Deski develops Deep learning tools to automatically analyze spine radiographs.

AUTOMATED STROKE LESION SEGMENTATION IN MRI

Cerebral Ischemic Strokes are a major cause of motor impairments with significant impact on patient self-sufficiency. The ability to predict long term outcome after stroke is urgently required. DESKI is working hand in hand with the Neurocentre Magendie of Bordeaux’s University Hospital to create a new diagnostic tools for long-term motor impairment recovery.
